Historical Fashions!
We are making doll clothes inspired by important points in history — comment and tell us what YOUR favorite era is!
We recently received a custom order. We had never sewn or drafted patterns for a doll of this size, so it was a fun challenge.
We were very proud of the end result, and wanted to share some pictures!
Pattern drafted fully by us. It was made for a 12″ HABA Doll. The dress is reversible, comes with a belt, and has Velcro closures. Perfect for little hands! We also made matching headbands for the doll and her owner.

We’re two artistic teen sisters who happen to love dolls, and have since opened a business!
Our Story
In 2013, we finally realized just how hard saving up money could be. We really wanted some clothes for our dolls, so we turned to the web looking for inexpensive doll clothes. We struggled to find affordable doll clothes that were good quality and appealed to girls of a wide variety of ages.
One day, we realized that we could sew our own doll clothes. Thankfully, one of us already knew how to sew, so we made a (not very good) basic dress.
From there, we decided we wanted to create our own business, and Sparkle and Spunk was born! We found out about a craft fair in our city, and within a few months were selling our products to people at the craft fair. We made about $90, which we were quite proud of.
We decided we wanted to further expand our business, so we opened an Etsy shop, Sparkle and Spunk (called Sparkle and Spunk Shop), in August 2015.
We’ve since re-evaluated what makes us love creating special accessories and clothing for dolls and girls. Our shop focuses on creative, unique clothing and accessories for girls and their 18″ (American Girl, Our Generation, Springfield, My Twinn, etc.) dolls. And who doesn’t love tutus? We’re excited about some of our new designs and future releases, and we hope you’ll join us over the next few years on this crazy, fun, entrepreneurial journey!
